Rutilant Revelation

Presented by Art Biesenthal 2024 Aura's Present Decay, Hosted by WehrmuehleCurated by Tjioe Meyer Hecken and Felipe Schwager Rutilant Revelation, is an immersive video installation aiming to break free from conventional boundaries and take viewers on a transformative journey into the intricate realm of human emotions and introspection.  Growing up with a turbulent family history backdrop of escape, persecution, and conflict, drawing from my own experiences, by weaving mixed memories and moments of struggles, joy, love, and fear into the work. By visualizing fear in a metaphoric and physical dimension in the shape of a brick wall, the video narrative depicts a construction worker – myself – engaged with building a wall within a construction site. With each brick laid, the barrier grows, dimming the light projected from the video, and leaving the viewer in darkness in their physical space. Yet, as the wall is gradually dismantled, a glimmer of light breaks through, flooding the space with illumination that signifies liberation from confinement, washing the viewers in glowing warm light.
